CID has been a pioneer in Europe in the use of UroNav for prostate biopsies since 2013. This innovative technology offers increased accuracy for the diagnosis of prostate cancer, by combining MRI imaging and real-time guidance for more reliable results. To date, approximately 7000 examinations have been carried out.


Types of exams offered

Prostate MRI

Prostate MRI is an advanced imaging test that uses a powerful magnetic field and radio waves to obtain detailed images of the prostate and surrounding tissues. This examination is essential for the early detection of prostate cancer, the assessment of tumor extension and post-treatment monitoring. ​

Duration: approximately 30 to 60 minutes. Non-invasive, sometimes with the injection of a contrast product. ​

Indications: screening and evaluation of prostate cancer, monitoring of patients after treatment, clarification of ambiguous results of other examinations. Inform the technician of any allergies to the contrast material before the exam.

Prostate Biopsy using UroNav

Prostate Biopsy under UroNav Prostate biopsy under UroNav is an advanced procedure used to diagnose prostate cancer. UroNav combines detailed prostate MRI images with a real-time guidance system to precisely locate suspicious areas and collect tissue samples.

Duration: The exam generally lasts between 30 and 60 minutes.

Indications: Screening for prostate cancer after abnormalities detected during prostate MRI, evaluation of suspicious lesions, follow-up of patients with a history of prostate cancer to monitor the progression of the disease.

CID has been a pioneer in Europe in the use of this technology since 2013.

Urogenital ultrasound

Urogenital ultrasound is a non-invasive examination using sound waves to visualize the male genital and urinary organs, such as the bladder, prostate, testicles and kidneys. This test is often used to evaluate urologic symptoms, detect abnormalities, or monitor pre-existing conditions. ​

Duration: between 15 and 30 minutes. Painless and risk-free. ​

Indications: evaluation of urinary disorders, pain or swelling of the testicles, monitoring of prostate pathologies, search for masses or genital anomalies. No specific preparation is necessary, but it is advisable to come with a full bladder for better visualization.

Prices and support

Our prices are aligned with those of public hospitals in the canton, guaranteeing total transparency and fairness. Your basic insurance covers outpatient examinations and treatments, ensuring you have access to the best care at no additional cost.


Prepare your visit

Memo to prepare your visit:

  • Bring your examination voucher signed by the prescribing doctor, your health insurance card and your old images (optional).
  • Avoid deodorants, creams and powders on the day of the exam, as they can affect the images.
  • Wear easily removable clothing to make the process easier.
  • Inform the technician if you have an allergy.

Results

Results are usually available the same day. You will receive a detailed report of the examination by mail or via your doctor. ​

In the event of abnormal results, additional tests may be recommended.
